Farmers Markets. It’s one of our favorite things about summer…

Fortunately, there is no shortage of local farmers’ markets throughout our region offering an abundance of fresh, locally produced fruits, vegetables, meats, baked goods, cheeses, eggs, plants, art, crafts and so much more. Add warm sunny weather and live entertainment and you’ve got yourself a fun day out. Before you go, make sure you follow these tips!

Arrive early.  The early bird always gets the goods!  Popular vendors sometimes sell out early.
Bring a bag.  You never know what you’ll find, so be prepared and bring your own reusable bag.
Do some research. Many of the markets have social media accounts where they share the latest news and offerings. It’s a great way to get an idea of which vendors you’ll want to hit up first!
Look for what’s in season. This sample produce calendar gives you an idea of what to look for and when.
